Sky Trees and Verses from the Caribbean

One day I may find out the history about why so many Norfolk Island Pine trees grow in gardens in Kingston, Jamaica.

We had a Norfolk Island Pine in our garden from the early 80s to the late 90s - for about 17 years. It survived storms, most notably Hurricane Gilbert of 1988, and was finally felled by the blade of a woodsman from Portland under instructions from the landowner who needed the space for roses.

This blog post is in honour of the memory of that tree which had reached at least 20 feet on its last day.
